Accessibility at AASP 2024

AASP is committed to ensuring that our event is as accessible as possible for all attendees. We strive to provide a variety of accommodations for individuals with disabilities or other accessibility needs. Space was provided on the conference registraiton form for attendees to share accommodation needs. AASP cannot guarantee requests made onsite.

Airport & Transportation
Click here for airport information and taxi service. Additional information on scooter and wheelchair rentals, and vehicles and transportation in and around Las Vegas is available here.

Closed Captioning
AASP is piloting AI closed captioning during selected sessions this year. Sessions in Celebrity 1-4 and Celebrity 6 will be captioned. To access captions, navigate to the session on the conference app, then tap "Captions" on the bottom menu. You will be redirected to Wordly. Tap "Attend" to see real-time, AI captions. Based on attendee feedback, we hope to expand this offering in the future years

Food Allergies
Events with food will include gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Food on buffets will be labeled. If the food provided does not fit your dietary needs, please contact a hotel banquet staff member.

Lactation Room
A lactation room will be available for nursing mothers. Chairs near outlets will be available, as well as a refrigerator. Pick up a key at the AASP registration desk.

Planet Hollywood Accessibility Information
Accessible rooms and parking are available at Planet Hollywood. These include roll-in showers or tub transfers. TDD telephones are also available. Please request an accessible room at the time of reservation.

Presentations
This year, AASP is communicating with all our presenters and providing guidelines to help make individual presentations more accessible and inclusive. Information sent to speakers will include guidelines for PowerPoint slides, reminders to use the microphones at all times (for those with different hearing levels), and recommendations about inclusive language. Poster presenters will also receive specific recommendations regarding font-size guidelines, colors, etc.

Restrooms
While Planet Hollywood’s restrooms are marked male and female, AASP will add signage to encourage attendees to use the restroom that most aligns with their gender identity and expression.

Service Animals
Service animals are welcome at the conference.

Sign Language Interpreters
Sign language interpreters will be available for all keynote sessions.

Wheelchair and Scooter Rentals
Scootaround is available for rental needs.

Zen Room (for quiet meditation/prayer)
A room will be available during conference hours for prayer, meditation, and quiet to help people reset if/when needed. This is located in Santa Monica 4.
