Course Options (Outside AASP)
CMPC Requirements and Courses
To become a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC), applicants must meet several academic requirements through either traditional coursework or academic experiences comparable in scope and depth to 3-credit semester courses offered within the U.S. education system. All coursework/experience must be reflected on the final academic transcript; therefore, auditing courses is not acceptable.
The courses below have been identified as appropriate by the Certification Council to meet the academic requirements within the specific knowledge area(s). The CMPC Certification Council does not accredit, approve, endorse, or recommend any education or training programs and/or products designed or intended to prepare candidates for certification. The Council has no involvement in the development or delivery of such programs or products.
Please note this is not meant to be an exhaustive list of acceptable classes nor do applicants need to take every course listed on this page.
No costs are included below since those tend to change. Applicants are encouraged to consult the institution for specific information about costs, schedules, and admission criteria.
General Coursework Guidelines
Distance or online full-credit courses (comparable to a 3-credit semester course in the US education system) can apply toward certification requirements.
Courses should be:
- From regionally accredited US colleges and universities (Western Association, North Central Association, Southern Association, Middle States Association, New England Association, Northwest Association); or
- From fully accredited international institutions, through which academic experiences are similar in breadth and depth to a 3-credit semester course offered in the US education system.
- Full credit and taken for a grade (not pass/fail courses, audited courses, or university extension courses unless explicitly stated in course materials that the course is for college credit).
