Overview
This webinar will focus on the importance of multidisciplinary teams for coordination of care and taking a holistic approach when working with sport, exercise, and performance psychology clients in various settings. Using an evidence-based approach grounded in systems theory and the social ecological model, the presenters will discuss their experiences in setting up and being involved in multidisciplinary teams. The utilization of such teams in the collegiate athletics environment will be explored from an individual clinical and performance perspective, as well as an athletic team culture and performance perspective. The dynamics of building a multidisciplinary team when in private practice as well as participating in established teams within various client settings such as sport performance facilities and at the international/Olympic level will also be discussed. The aim of this webinar is to provide useful information, experiences, and guidance in effectively seeking out, setting up, and navigating multidisciplinary teams for providers well-established with such teams as well as those new to the process.
